Three of the smartphone manufacturers that sold their devices in the largest number of pieces remained the same. Samsung, Huawei and Apple. Chinese manufacturer Huawei has a dynamic development, managed to overtake Apple and take second place. Just behind the podium is Xiaomi, with the highest growth rate among all producers.
Xiaomi has an increase in smartphone sales by 48%, and Apple less than 1%.
The results that I presented above relate to the second quarter of the year 2018, and a comparison with the same period last year. At the top, unchanged, the reigns of Samsung which sold over 71 millions of smartphones, but has a large downward trend -10% compared to last year. The second place went to Huawei who managed to overtake Apple and has the second highest percentage of sales growth. A company from Cupertino, sold virtually the same number of devices with a bitten apple as a year earlier. It has a minimum increase of less than one percent.
The company that I am most interested in is of course Xiaomi, which was just behind the podium with the best sales increase compared to the same period in the 2017 year. Smartphones with the Mi logo have achieved an increase of 48.8%, If the trend is retained next year, Xiaomi will push Apple off the podium.
As we can see Chinese giants Huawei and Xiaomi have 25,1% shares on the smartphone market, for comparison, the Samsung and Apple duo has 33%. If we add Oppo shares, the Chinese trio will overtake two veterans.
